About Us
Heru Behutet Oasis is a body of the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) under charter from U.S. Grand Lodge. We were chartered as Ra Heru Behutet Camp in 1993 e.v.. Our progress and accomplishments were recognized by the Order in the spring of 2000 e.v. at which time we were re chartered as Heru Behutet Oasis. We remain the first operational body of the O.T.O. to serve the states of Missouri and Kansas.
Currently, our activities include initiating the Man of Earth Degrees (Minerval through IV/PI); discussion groups and classes on Magick, Ritual and Qabalah; and monthly celebrations of the Gnostic Mass. We also publish an online journal, Talons, featuring articles, poetry and reviews.
Operating at our temple and under the guidance of our Supervising Bishops, we are fully sanctioned by the Order to perform the Gnostic Mass and upon request, baptism and confirmation into the E.G.C.
We do request that newcomers to the Mass read the script here, prior to first attendance, so that they know what to expect. Attendees are expected to take communion.
Taking communion consists of eating a small cake and drinking a small goblet of wine. We understand that there are people who would prefer not to drink alcohol and an alternative of juice or water will be provided upon request.
